Graças aos deuses o cenário pop recifense solta as amarras do saturado e recalcado regionalismo – que já tinha o que dar e precisa de uma urgente reavaliação/renovação. O novato quarteto Volver é uma dessas da linha de frente do novo pop pernambucano, como temos recitado por aqui. O grupo envereda pela sonoridade “sixties” que assola o país e tem produzido vários “carbonos” que mancham aqueles anos passados. Não é o caso do Volver, pois seu disco de estréia é um disco resolvido que se lambuza nas melodias e harmonias produzidas por lendas como Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, Byrds, a nossa Jovem Guarda e, por conseguinte suas boas crias brasucas como Júpiter Maça, Relespública, The Charts, Cachorro Grande, etc...
Bruno Souto é o cantor e principal compositor, tem boa voz e senso melódico apurado. Mas não é só ele. Diógenes Baptisttella é um guitarrista – até comedido - que capta bem os riffs, acordes e progressões típicas da época inserindo timbragens mais atuais, seu grande trunfo. A “cozinha” levada por Fernando Barreto (baixo) e Doug (baterista) é excelente e sem comentários! Como o gênero requer, não vamos encontrar aqui letras cabeças ou algo que o valha, os doze temas são sobre amor e relacionamentos, blá-blá-blá, que você consegue soletrar depois. O disco bem produzido, foi gravado em Recife, além da banda, também com os dedos da dupla Léo D. e William P., os preferidos dos novos sons pernambucanos. A faixa de abertura “Você que pediu” é um agradabilíssimo petardo que me lembrou os ianques Velvet Crush, sumidade power pop mundial; essa música por si já paga o disco. Mas descobrimos outras como a “merseybeat” “Mister bola de cristal” com um riff de guitarras a lá Ray Davies. A ótima “Na trate ele assim” é power pop setentista com cara de hit anos 90, bem direta; o mesmo trato podemos dar a “Lucy”. Em a “Máquina do Tempo” encontramos Byrds e Beatles, já pensou?! Embora não pareça há uma variação nessa obra, além das pitadas power pop – merseybeat, temos pitadas mod em “Não ria de mim” e em “Charminho” e lembranças da Jovem Guarda em “Quero te ver bem (longe de mim)”. Pra fechar uma ótima balada “Com sabor de choque elétrico”, umas das nossas preferidas. A Volver fez um trabalho de resgate, digamos assim, muito provavelmente de paixão com os primórdios do pop music. E o bom é que quanto mais você escutar, mais quer... Altamente recomendável!
